## Produced for Deutsche Welle – with love, hunger and a camera crew.

»50 Kitchens, One Home« – Basiliscus Film produced 50 magazine features over nine months on behalf of Deutsche Welle for the lifestyle magazine euromaxx.

[ Stephanie Drescher](https://basi.wamrhein.de/en/camera-crew/editor-and-creativ-tv-producer/stephanie-drescher "Author Stephanie Drescher") was responsible for editing, research and organisation, whilst [Uwe Schwarze](https://basi.wamrhein.de/en/camera-crew/cameraman-camera-operator-berlin "Cameraman Berlin – Uwe Schwarze") handled camera work and [post-production](https://basi.wamrhein.de/en/equipment/postproduction/davinci-resolve-editing-suite "Post production and VFX in Berlin"). Together, we filmed in 50 Berlin kitchens, wrote all the voice-over scripts and penned the text for the accompanying publication. **50 people, 50 recipes, 50 stories** about home, cooking and life in one of the world’s most diverse cities.

### TV and web series with the Greek restaurant »Taverna Ousia«

Sunshine on the plate, the sea somewhere in the memory – and in the middle of it all, a Berlin kitchen that smells of oregano and olive oil. Greek food always carries a story with it. Telling that story without over-romanticising it is the craft that defines our [video production](https://basi.wamrhein.de/en/camera-crew/our-film-team/who-we-are "Film production company Berlin") work. This episode is one of our favourites from the entire series.

“My parents moved to a foreign country, and I was born here, but they did not want my brother and me to forget where we came from. That's why they taught us the Greek culture – the language, the food,” Athanasios Gortsas tells us when we meet him for the series “50 Kitchens, one city” at the [Taverna Ousia](http://www.taverna-ousia.de/ "Taverna Ousia"). The ancient Greek tradition plays an important role in the restaurant, which is specialized on Mezedes, small dishes that have a great advantage: you can try something of everything. Typical Greek is also the lamb shoulder in red wine sauce, which we have prepared together. One eats it with fresh vegetables.
